US Empire falling apart, partially due to allegiance to Israel: Writer

Many countries are distancing from the American Empire because it is “falling apart”, partially due to its “continued allegiance” to Israel, according to Linh Dinh, an American political analyst and writer based in Philadelphia.

“The United States is a failing empire that causes war and chaos. Many countries are starting to see this, so they are rethinking their association with the United States,” Dinh said in an interview with Press TV on Saturday.

“Although the Philippines is involved in a territorial dispute with China, it knows that it must get along with China down the line, simply because China will always be there, in East Asia, as the United States fades from the scene,” he stated.

“European countries, too, will disengage from the US to accompany Russia. It’s simply common sense. If you associate with the United States, which is a dying and dangerous empire, you’re likely to go down with it,” he added.

During a visit to China on Thursday, Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte announced a "separation from the US,” saying the separation applied to military and economic cooperation between Washington and Manila.

Despite the public snub, US Defense Secretary Ashton Carter insisted on Friday that his country intends to keep its alliance commitments to the Philippines.

Addressing a public rally on Friday, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump said the world hates the United States, citing countries such as the Philippines which are aligning themselves with US adversaries.

“The world hates our president,” Trump told his supporters. “The world hates us. You saw what happened with the Philippines after years and years and years; they’re now looking to Russia and China, because they don’t feel good about the weak America.”

Dinh told Press TV that “Trump’s assessment is not entirely useful, however, because he’s leaving out Israel. One of the main reasons the United States itself is falling apart is because of its continued allegiance to Israel.”

“The US and Israel are widely hated because they have destroyed many countries. The world would be a much better place if the United States divorced itself from Israel, but this is not going to happen. Trump and Clinton are both fanatical supporters of Israel,” he stated.

Tried to write this last night but got interrupted. Trust me--"it" was worth it. Anyway, Too Dirty wants to sever, in his words, "economic and military ties" with the United States, while flipping Obama the bird. But within the same breath he wants his country to maintain social ties or contact with us, the U.S.--as it were. But what does that mean? Does it mean that all those smart young Filipinas with the killer smiles aren't likely to find the same sort of remuneratively handsome "asawa ko"'s in China and Russia (his professed new pals .. Boi, I betcha Xi Jinping is still pissing all over himself over that one; leading the old man around the military parade in .. Tiananmen Square, was it?) they currently find Back in the U.S.S.A.? For instance, a quick Google search reveals the Philippines is the third largest recipient of remittances world-wide ($30b annually), with the lion's share of those dollars and bulging balikbayan boxes coming from here. Saudi Arabia and the UAE come in distant seconds, and face it no one really wants to go to those destinations. It's more a family obligation. As for the contribution from Asian locales, Hong Kong and Taiwan lead the pack--neither of which happen to be in the good graces of the Dragon. So, to conclude, just how anti-American Too Dirty can get away with being remains to be seen. Oops, gott go!

Hi swindled,

While in China, Duterte proudly pointed out that he was 1/4 Chinese. That's another factor.

In spite of their own territorial dispute, Vietnam allowed three Chinese navy ships to dock in Cam Ranh Bay recently. Of course, American ships have also visited. When you're a small country, you must balance your alliances and contort yourself into all sorts of weird postures.

My wife is half-Chinese. Her last name in China would be the surname Goh. and which I understand as derivative of Zhou, as in Zhou Enlai. And at the rate things are going, the Philippines going from being probably the most pro-American country I can think of (who loves us more? and imitates us to an obsessive degree .. ) to--ostensibly--a friend of China, I've already joked with her she needs to start diggin' her Commie roots .... though if you know Mindanao Too Dirty's (I really hate that guy .. encouraging the murder of small-time shabu dealers makes him a punk, in my eyes) foreign policy conversion is perhaps less surprising than it might first appear, as the NP (New People's Army) in the Southern Philippines are often extolled as regular folks--despite the nightime roadblocks and shakedowns! I know--who "tax" the rich and mete out rough justice to anyone who does a humble person wrong. And so Robin Hood figures, basically, and which I'm sure is how Duterte perceives himself.
